The story is fairly straightforward, which is one of the film’s strengths. Thor’s long-forgotten sister Hela, the Goddess of Death (Cate Blanchett), has returned to Asgard to start the Norse mythological end-of-days called Ragnarok. It is a race against time as Thor is stranded in space and must work with the Hulk and a new character, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), to save the innocent civilians of Asgard before the Ragnarok can come about.
