Friendly PEERsuasion at Abby Kelley Foster Charter School

Students at Abby Kelley Foster Charter School can take part in Girls Inc. of Worcester's Friendly PEERsuasion Program at school. 50 girls learn about violence prevention strategies and substance abuse prevention. Girls build skills for resisting pressure to use harmful substances such as alcohol, tobacco, household chemicals and other drugs. The two-part substance abuse prevention program teaches girls ages 11 - 14 healthy ways to manage stress and confront peer, media and other pressures. The girls then assume roles as PEERsuaders for younger girls.
