Movie) revealed additional cast, staff, theme song, the first trailer, and a key visual (pictured) on Friday. The anime movie is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on December 8. Megumu Sasano (Seirei Gensouki) and Megumi Shimizu are in charge of the screenplay. Miwa Ooshima (Kuro no Shoukanshi) is designing the characters. The anime movie is based on Satoru Yamaguchi's romance fantasy light novel, which began serializing on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in July 2014. Ichijinsha acquired the novel and published the first volume in August 2015, featuring illustrations by Nami Hidaka. The 13th volume was released on September 20. The story has a cumulative 6 million copies of its volumes in circulation. Hidaka began drawing a manga adaptation in Comic ZERO-SUM magazine in August 2017. Ichijinsha shipped the ninth volume on June 30. J-Novel Club and Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the light novel and manga in English, respectively, in August and September of 2018.
